Noel Meagher of Ablatio Pty LTD bought a LiuGong 856II loader early in 2006, the company actually use the loader in a forklift application. Noels LiuGong loader works loading sandstone pebble and sandstone blocks onto trucks, loading sandstone pebble into the tumbler and moving sandstone pebble and blocks around the quarry.
Here’s what he had to say…”The machine operates for full 7 hours per day on average, 5 days per week. It is used with the bucket for pebbles and rock and with the fork attachments to load 5-9 tonne blocks onto B doubles. The scales provide a computer printout of the weights which I think is fantastic.”
“We are happy with the performance to date .The machine is 18months old and has completed 2500hours. A Sandstone quarry is a harsh environment for any type of machinery due to broken rock on the surface as well as the dust created which is very abrasive and has the ability to penetrate any thing in it’s path. The machine is serviced as per the service schedule and the operators are well trained. The time to load large blocks on to B doubles is halved due to the time in transit from the quarry floor to the loading bay. We were using a fork lift for this process. The fork lift is much slower for this type of operation. The scales can supply a computer printout of the weight so the loader driver is covered when loading transport.”
Noel then went on to say that “All mechanical components and running gear are known brands, IE Cummins, Kawasaki etc. The manufacture and the materials are of good quality. At this point we have had no major problems with the machine nor do we expect to. We do know that the components used have good service support as the supplier infrastructure is available here in Brisbane.”
“We pieced other new machines and 2nd hand machines. The other branded loaders with the same capacity were similar in price but were showing 7-9000hours on the hour meter. So, we decided to purchase the LiuGong and have found it to be excellent value for money”
I asked Noel if he’d purchase another LiuGong machine…
“Are we disappointed? No!! ! We would purchase another LiuGong machine and would be happy to refer the machine, the sales effort and the after sales support to any prospective purchaser. The components are known brands and we believe that the quality control methods employed by the importer at the manufacturing plant ensure that the end product will perform and wear as it is designed to. Did we get value for money? Definitely. No 2nd hand machine for us while these machines are available.”
